How it works
- Pulls the competitor's referring domains from a free index, up to the row cap on the free plan.
- Ranks them against the strongest domain in the list, since the raw numbers aren't comparable across indexes.
- Marks each row as editorial or platform, so a site builder link doesn't get counted as an earned placement.

Common questions
Are these actual backlinks?
They're domains with a link somewhere on the site. This index doesn't include the specific page, the anchor text or the follow status, so you can't see the individual link.
Why is a big brand missing?
The free index covers a sample of the web. If a domain isn't in the returned set, that doesn't mean it doesn't link to the site.
How many rows do I get?
25 on the default free tier, up to 100 if a free Crawly key is configured.
