Check a domain's DR and authority

Two numbers for any domain, side by side. DR comes straight from Ahrefs. The DA score is ours, built from BacklinkMCP's free index, because Moz doesn't offer free API access to theirs.

1 free lookup and 1 free Ahrefs call. Both cached for 6 hours.

Bare domain or full URL, either works.

How it works

  1. Pulls Domain Rating from Ahrefs' free public endpoint, and the DA score from BacklinkMCP's free backlink index.
  2. Caches both for 24 hours, so checking the same domain twice doesn't cost two calls.
  3. Shows referring domains and outbound links next to the scores, so you can see what they're built on.

Where it stops

  • DA score is our index, not Moz DA.
  • DR is Ahrefs' number on Ahrefs' scale.

Common questions

Where does the DR come from?

Ahrefs. They publish a free Domain Rating endpoint, and their licence lets us display it as long as we credit them next to the number, which is what that link under the score is for. It's their metric, not an estimate of it.

Is the DA score the same as Moz DA?

No. Moz doesn't offer free API access, so the DA score here is our own 0 to 100 from BacklinkMCP's index. It measures a smaller slice of the web. If a client asks for Moz DA specifically, you need a Moz subscription, and you shouldn't pass this number off as one.

Why do the two scores disagree?

Different indexes, different maths. Ahrefs crawls far more of the web than BacklinkMCP does. Expect a gap between DR and the DA score, and don't average them.
